Steve Hnatiuk

Steve is a Partner and founder of Yaletown Venture Partners, a Vancouver-based venture capital firm which invests in private clean energy technology and information technology companies in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.  A well-known member of the region’s technology business community, he has been actively involved in the development and financing of emerging technology companies since 1990.
 
Steve has been a director or advisory board member of several technology companies and industry associations in British Columbia.  In addition to his active role on private company boards, he currently serves his business community as a director of the Canadian Venture Capital Association and the Wireless Innovation Network of BC.  He is active on the advisory boards of the North American Venture Capital Summit, Canadian Innovation Exchange, Banff Venture Forum, and Business in Vancouver newspaper and is a past director of the BC Technology Industries Association and the Vancouver Enterprise Forum.

Steve has also led community-oriented initiatives such as Adventures in Technology – an education programme funded and run by business leaders to teach high school students about career opportunities in science and technology.

A graduate of UBC and BCIT, Steve resides in Vancouver with his wife and four young children.
