The Real Estate Foundation endeavours to support sustainable real estate and land use practices for the benefit of British Columbians.
Their proactive stance often includes playing the role of partner.

The generous donation to the Aldergrove Bowl for redevelopment is an example of a partnership with other funders and different levels of government in order to complete the first phase of this multi faceted project.

The Real Estate Foundation decided to become a donor for several reasons, one compelling reason was the desire to help turn an 'ugly duckling into a swan' and they had a vsion of how land use change could benefit a community; in this instance by changing a brown industrial site to a green park.

The Real Estate Foundation also appreciated that the Aldergrove Bowl redevelopment is a model of how nature can be protected while at the same time allowing for high public use.

Metro Vancouver and its East area planning Department is to be commended for making responsible and thoughtful land use decisions.
