Langley / Aldergrove Park (bequest of land)

September, 2003: Pacific Parklands Foundation received a bequest of land in the Township of Langley.

The Foundation was pleased to announce the receipt of a bequest of land in the Township of Langley.  Mr and Mrs R. Wilson of Aldergrove bequeathed their home and 5 acres of land to the Foundation, to be incorporated into the regional system in the future.

This land, located on 264th Street Diversion at Zero Avenue (immediately west of the Aldergrove Customs and Immigration facilities), lies on the future greenway that will link Campbell Valley Regional Park to the west with ALdergrove Lake Regional Park to the East.  It will serve as a wonderful rest area for users of the greenway, and potentially for visitors to Canada who enter the country via the Aldergrove border crossing.

The property contains very attractive gardens, a forested area, short walking trail, and affords views over Whatcom County farmlands to the south.  It will be preserved as a public greenspace in perpetuity once it is formally incorporated into the GVRD park system.

Pacific Parklands Foundation expresses its' gratitiude to the Wilsons for their extraordinary generosity.
