Belcarra Park Playground

Belcarra Regional Park provides facilities and services for a variety of recreational activities. More than 900,000 visitors visit the park annually and thousands frequently use the playground. Located in the Belcarra picnic area, a popular destination for group gatherings, the playground provides a well loved place for children to explore and play.
Two decades ago, a number of wood structures were built creating the playground. The wood timber play structures fit well with the character of the park, however, in recent years these structures have had increasing maintenance requirements.
Over the last few years the playground has undergone rejuvenation. The aging wood and tire playground was replaced with new play structures that meet updated safety standards.
Playground Rejuvenation
In 2007, the main play area in the playground was dismantled and replaced with a new modern structure thanks to our generous donors. The new structure follows a ‘fort and nature’ theme that fits with the park and is geared toward children ages 5-12. There are two slides, many climbing features, nature themed activity panels, and large platforms that will accommodate a number of children at the same time.
